Micasa Host & Creator Collaboration Platform

Structured matching and pricing tiers for event hosts and collaborators

Built by 2 people (Team 24) · July 2025 · Micasa Hackathon, 2025/06

What it does

The team designed a system for event creators and venue hosts to find and work with each other on Micasa. The prototype introduces user classification across four tiers (Novice, Beginner, Advanced, Proficient) that unlock features as users progress from browsing tickets to hosting recurring events. It addresses two core friction points: unclear user progression and time-consuming negotiations. The solution provides three standardized pricing models (Flat Rate, Hybrid, Percentage) that hosts and creators select upfront, reducing back-and-forth negotiation. Discovery feeds let collaborator-profile users browse available hosts and let host-profile users browse open events seeking a host. A 20-minute sync feature and smart filtering help creators and hosts match based on pricing model, availability, and event needs.

How we built it

The team created conceptual mockups in Figma to illustrate user experience and flow. They designed end-to-end matching flows with discovery feeds, interest signals, and filtering by pricing style and availability limits. The work demonstrates UX design, prototyping, user classification logic, and pricing model design. Two demo videos walk through the interactive prototype and explain the concept.

Impact

Event creators struggle to find collaborators and face ambiguous negotiations that slow down or prevent events from happening. Venue hosts need clarity around compensation and risk tolerance. The team addressed these problems by standardizing expectations, reducing negotiation friction, and creating transparent pricing structures. The user classification system guides people from first-time attendees to fully engaged creators, improving retention and surfacing relevant opportunities as users mature within the community.

Questions and answers

What are the four user tiers?

Novice users browse and buy tickets as guests. Beginner users create accounts and use filters and follows. Advanced users have host or collaborator profiles and can create events. Proficient users have both profiles, host series, track analytics, and access full collaboration tools including revenue sharing.

How do the pricing tiers work?

Three standardized models let hosts and creators align on compensation upfront: Flat Rate, Hybrid, and Percentage. Hosts choose a model when setting up their venue profile. Creators select a tier when building an event. Users can filter by pricing style or set limits like maximum hourly rate to find compatible partners.

How does matching work between hosts and creators?

Users with collaborator profiles browse available hosts in a discovery feed overlay and filter by pricing model, location, reviews, and availability. Users with host profiles browse open events seeking a host. When both sides show interest, it becomes a match and they can move into contract terms and communication.
