FRINK is part of the NSF-led Prototype Open Knowledge Network (Proto-OKN) initiative. It enables seamless integration, harmonization, and analysis of independently developed Proto-OKN knowledge graphs across domains (e.g., NASA, NIH, NOAA), supporting an open, AI-ready data ecosystem that connects science, policy, and innovation."
SUMMARY: If you have access to the data here at https://frink.renci.org/help/query-page/, is there something you could build? CHALLENGE 1 - Low-tech / KG Beginner / Requires Domain Experts Simply explore the ProtoOKN with the FRINK query tool to provide ideas or prototypes of what you could build. CHALLENGE 2 If - and only if - you'd like to prototype something: Example1. Build a Geographical viewer on a front-end. KG Difficulty: Medium to High, because that data has been entered without any standardization by the different Proto-OKNs. How would you address this? Example 2. Find people among the research teams of the Proto-OKNs. CHALLENGE 3- High Difficulty GOAL: Enhance interoperability across the Prototype Open Knowledge Network (Proto-OKN) by enabling federated querying and integration of multiple domain knowledge graphs. FRINK (Fabric Integrating Networked Knowledge) connects independently developed KGs like SPOKE, GeneLab, and OSDR, allowing seamless querying, linking, and reasoning without duplicating data. Participants will design tools that debug and visualize federated SPARQL queries, identify schema mismatches or failed endpoints, and improve data transparency and harmonization across Proto-OKN domains."
