About This Challenge

# Challenge Overview Gaps to Graphs - Power AI Research Transition to Industry In Short: ⭐ Enhance and Accelerate how AI-focused research transitions to industry. 🏛️ With the US NSF The NSF Proto-OKN leadership group invites industry and tech leaders to support AI research by sharing what’s needed in their domain, during a remote breakout session with the most advanced “AI Knowledge” researchers. For any Domain or Tech leader registering: Premier partnerships with top-of-the-iceberg AI researchers Sneak preview access to new sources of AI knowledge you can shape Get exposure at the National Science Foundation Influence the future of AI. GenHax will leverage the work in upcoming open co-creation challenges, for the community to prototype solutions based on your directions. ## Challenge Context This organizational challenge is designed to bring together diverse perspectives and skills to address a real challenge: improving knowledge graph integration, when datasets are heterogeneous - a very frequent issue in companies. ## Objectives - Understand the current KG integration within FABRIC - Develop alternative / complementary solutions for further integration across KGs - Formalize your solution with the researchers: use GenHax "Post a Solution" to let the researchers review - and get a certificate as a thank you. ## Success Criteria Your Challenge: Enhance and Accelerate AI Research’s Impact on Industry For an hour, attendants will help Proto-OKN projects transition to markets, by co-piloting data enhancement solutions for their Knowledge Graphs. Developing AI requires both technical and domain/business leaders to collaborate. Tech experts and researchers need you. In this FABRIC case, you will collaborate in small teams made of KG and Industry leaders and experts. Impact guaranteed. ## Background FRINK. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Christopher Bizon, https://renci.org/staff/chris-bizon/, Director of Analytics and Data Science Jim Balhoff, https://renci.org/staff/james-balhoff/, Assistant Director of Analytics and Data Science ### Current Focus ProtoOKN Overview https://www.proto-okn.net/ More about FRINK, the "Proto-OKN Service to Query Them All" . overview : https://frink.renci.org/ . video intro - 12 minutes: youtube.com/watch?v=kszqRYr-SzE&list=PLNs9ZO9jGtUCmh7Ss7Rza8o_1GHeYPiE7&index=15&pp=gAQBiAQB . quick start: https://frink.renci.org/help/ . technical video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVnmWT6mjVQ&list=PLNs9ZO9jGtUCmh7Ss7Rza8o_1GHeYPiE7&index=17 . Supply Chains (SCM, ERP, PLM Open data) at Arizona State University: https://projects.engineering.asu.edu/sudokn/ Your Challenge: Teams explore what “Knowledge” the NSF research teams have enabled in your field. Watch a demo, ask questions. Give feedback on potential usage (Accelerate transition x5) Teams prioritize other problems the researchers could solve (Enhance) Scan & list what existing or non-existing data sources could be leveraged. Estimate how much query results enhancements would be enabled with your ideas (Goal +20%) Participants list 1 or 2 researcher intros to investors, startups, or large organizations’ leaders they can make today. (Accelerate transition x10) Hugo Seureau at GenHax will facilitate that co-creation session GOAL Co-create Proto-OKN enhancements & accelerate research. Accelerate Research Learn, analyze, explore and share ways to add relations or nodes to the proto-OKN knowledge graphs. Such data enhancement is part of the lifecycle of creating a Knowledge Graph (KG); and it increases the value of a KG. Enhancing a KG is a work intensive side of developing a useful and sustainable, that requires collaboration between domain experts and graph experts. With this breakout, we have the opportunity to transition proto-OKNs better, faster. AUDIENCE DETAILS Who should join? Leaders in their field or organizations. PI teams and Agencies. Co-creating with who? Supporting AI Researchers with US NSF grants. Co-creating for what? for current, existing proto-OKNs to enhance their data, or think of ways to leverage it across each other, so that it generates value for companies or agencies. What will be done? Participants will list the gaps in data, and existing or potential sources of data. AFTER THE SESSION After the breakout session, what? - You will share and save all the solutions proposed - Share docs and files created or prototypes if any - Record 3-minute pitch More Impact: GenHax may offer your feedback/suggestions as challenges in future co-creation events. If so, we may reach out to you to validate the challenge. ## Getting Started 1. Form a team or participate solo 2. Review all challenge materials and context 3. At the event: Research and Co-Create 5. Submit a solution at the end We're excited to see what you create!
